New York Mobile Map

NAVIGATION

Each map you look at has a starting position, which is usually the intersection of two well-known streets. When you choose to display the map of a particular region, the application places the cursor at the starting position.

From this position, you can navigate around the city by choosing the streets and your directions as you go along. You can find out the names of the streets you cross as well as the name of the nearest landmark. You can measure the distance you travel, too.

You can move from one intersection to the next by pressing the arrow buttons on your phone or using the numbers 2(^), 4(<), 6(>) and 8(v). As you press the buttons, the cursor will jump to the next intersection in your chosen direction.

The names of the streets at the intersection are displayed on the screen in a background colour matching the colour used to highlight the streets themselves.
